Real Love

Real Love, it seems, has been very confusing to most people of the world today. We have been misled by so many of the people that we often looked to for guidance whom we expected to be full of sound wisdom.

We see the examples of our elders from which we learn most things including our sometimes bad lifelong habits. Habits that we tend to pass on to our offspring that can later come back to haunt us or at least challenge our ideals of life.

Love as defined by the scripture teaches that we ought to seek another’s good above our own. 1 Cor. 10:24

Real Love is not in most cases what we begin our relationships with, but what we acquire through the discourse of time with God and others. 1 John 4:20 helps us to remember that we can’t Love God without loving others. If we are to achieve Real Love it will be because we became thirsty for the formula God has already given us and nothing else.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says; 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth:…

Remember Biblically the word charity here means Love.

Real Love can seem elusive and many times very difficult. Know that the reason it seems hard is because without Christ (whom is Love) it can’t work.

The next time someone tells you that they really love you, ask them, if like Christ, they are ready to lay down their life for you. John 15:13 (In Other words, are they willing to put your needs above their very own). That is the purest example of Real Love!
